Frequently Asked Questions

What is the purpose/mission of ECA?

Edified Christian Academy is established to develop, train and empower children to become successful and productive citizens.

Proverbs 22:6 - Train up a child in the way he should go [and in keeping with his individual gift or bent], and when he is old he will not depart from it (Amplified Version). The Academy supports families who desire to teach their children to live by Christian values. We nurture the whole student: spiritually, mentally, and physically. We strive to empower children to excel above their peers who are enrolled in the public school system.

What curriculum does ECA utilize?

The Academy utilizes a curriculum that is aligned with Christian principles and biblical teachings. The educational curriculum of choice is the Abeka Preschool Curriculum. We offer additional education supplements from Saxon Math and Reading Enrichment Method Curriculum. We teach the importance of possessing and demonstrating good character in school, at home, in church, and in the community. By the practical use of principles given in God’s Word, we encourage each childs’ creativity, while helping the child to perform and compete with integrity, and Christian morals.

What are Super Scholar Series?

ECA utilizes Super Scholar Series to develop each child by exposing them to various activities that will enhance creativity, individuality, and discovery of their God given gifts and talents. Super Scholars Series are offered to our students on a monthly basis. The monthly series theme is creatively incorporated into the student’s daily curriculum. Examples of Super Scholar Series are Theater, Cultural Awareness, Musical Composition, Nature, Safety (Kids First), Technology, Bible Heroes, Career Studies and Famous Orators.

Sign Language promotes the development of language skills, increases speed of spatial reasoning development, increases creative thinking, increases early literacy skills and offers a second language that is formally and nationally recognized.

In today’s society technology is advancing rapidly. Our students will learn the common uses of technology in daily life and the advantages those uses provide. In addition, students will be introduced to basic computer language and techniques.

ECA offers smaller class sizes than most private and public schools therefore we are able to offer our students Centers. Small group and individual activities take place in classroom centers.
